The USofA might be a circus at times but it is still the best country in the world… you are either jealous of us….. or you are a sad American self hater. Please feel free to move anytime you want….. I heard there is some nice civil unrest going on in North Africa the Middle East and many South Amecian countries also…. have your pick. Where people are killed in the streets daily for no reason. Seriously, think about these examples – is it “humiliating” when a doctor examines your ears and sticks that instrument in to look inside? I suspect you’d say no. Then why is it humiliating when the doctor looks at other parts? Because you associate your female anatomy as dirty or xrated or whatever.
Grow up! Women are irrational and over react to so many things. For the record, I’ve gone to a female doctor before and she gave me a prostate exam. Big deal. And my dermatologist did a full body exam once for skin cancer and quite frankly, I sort of enjoyed it a little. I mean, I was embarassed and my heart raced a bit, but there was a little bit of enjoyment to the experience, I mean, naked on a table, kind of exciting.
Doctors and clinics seem to go the extra distance to make any visit as dehumanizing and undignified as possible. The only way I will ever see a doc again is if I am transported to one unconscious. Way too many shit doctors out there that just don’t give a crap about their patients. Many of them are far past retirement age but they can’t give up getting $450 for ten minutes of work. That and they desperately want to keep the god status society has bestowed on them.
i would rather have a root canal than get a pap! they should give you the gas at the gyno., like they do at the dentist! my dr. is like …ok, scoot down a little more ,then he practically has to pry my knees apart!
After a while, you will grow accustomed to strange people shoving unknown objects up your Vaging-oh. You may even come (no pun intended, haha) to conclude that the experience is quite pleasurable…..
oh and how to do it yourself without buying such an alternative kit, you could do the same as some nurses offer to women who refuse pelvic exams because it’s too upsetting for them (allthough not all nurses are as understanding) is to insert a cotton swab which you can insert yourself and take a smear inside the vagina and hand the swab over to the doctor or the lab where they do the testings of the smear. A speculum could also be used by a woman herself (on herself). see previous link I gave

But you know Amy, they won’t tell you the reasons for those “mortal diseases” you can actually prevent and not cure! They won’t tell you not to take hormonal contraception that causes several damage to your female organism, including breast and ovarian cancer. They rather sell you a poison and then cure you.

I totally agree. They always talk about how preventative these gyn exams are (pap smears), but they don’t prevent anything at all. All they do is scare woman about cancers and checking and controlling them, *looking* for disease, which only adds to the stress of the already emotionally upsetting pelvic exam. Besides that, they refuse to offer women more accurate and non-invasive tests which already exist and if they didn’t, women always can do this test on themselves, no need for such exposure

i’m terrified, i don’t even know when i’m gonna have my first time going there, but it doesn’t seem like a very comfortable thing to do.
